Ashley and I made a dress!

We made it to fit both of us and we are really excited about it! We didn't use a pattern or anything except for the made up pattern I followed according to my brain. Didn't it turn out great?! She looks precious in it!

I also drew some skeletons for a class assignment. They're about 2 1/2 feet tall although you can't tell from the photo. I have three different embroideries I'm working on now that are looking amazing, but i'm going to post them later when they are more finished.

I'm selling custom embroideries for $25.

Hi internet friends. I've decided that I'm going to sell some custom embroideries. They will only set you back twenty five dollars. This includes any small images, words or numbers (within reason and to my ultimate discretion) that will fit in a 4" diameter embroidery hoop! I have attached some quick sample embroideries and the exact kind of hoop that would be included. The "Hip Hop Dancer" is for my little sister upon her request, but the other two are for sale for $25. If you are interested in a custom embroidery (or one of the embroideries shown...) please contact me at shannonyoung20@gmail.com and we'll make arrangements. Yay, thanks!

May First Friday

Here are a few pictures from May's First Friday at Railroad Square. It was so packed that I had to park downtown. The B.S. Grad Show was in the 623 Gallery and looked fantastic. I took a photo of Chris Beard, the mastermind behind the exhibit, hanging the final pieces of work. Kelly Boehmer had a few additional pieces in the 621 Gallery, which unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of. However, they were fantastic as expected. I also missed the opportunity to take pictures of Lee Bretschneider's work at Bacon and Bakin' and Strange Circus Gallery. I'm a big fan of his work. (adventuringcompany.com) The Milagros Gallery did a great job at putting on an entire Women's Show. I had an embroidery piece in attendance along side talented artists such as Jessica Gatlin, Felici Asteinza, Courtney Asztalos, Carrie Ann Baade, Amanda Boekhout, Tamar Dachoach, Tina Imel, and more! The needle felted piece I made was called, "Making Friends", and it was showing in the BFA Warehouse. The bone is just another piece of the large embroidery floss installation I'm working on. Saturday was followed up with an incredible roller derby game from the Tallahassee Rollergirls. I got to be an announcer which was very fun. What a ridiculously exciting weekend! I wish I could send a huge hug to everyone I know for being so damn amazing. A hug and a shot of whiskey. Cheers!
